Helena Kate Repton ARRC, MM (1872 - 1941) – British Nurse

With thanks to Callan Chevin for finding this highly decorated nurse for us

Helena Kate Repton was born in Norton Green, Staffordshire, UK in 1872 – the birth being registered in the first quarter.  Her parents were Thomas Repton and his wife, Sarah.

Owing to her selfless commitment to the welfare of soldiers in her care, Helena became a seven times decorated WWI nurse who served directly in the nucleus of the war in France from 1915 to 1919.

Helena was one of only 146 British women decorated for service during the First World War.  Helena was also awarded two military medals by the French.

Helena continued to nurse and died in 1941.
